Neighbourhood Watch Update

Prior to our AGM on Thursday 12th at 7.30 pm at the Open House here is an update on the SRRA Neighbourhood Watch survey.

There are currently two NW groups in existence, in Southdown Avenue between Grantham Road and Stanford Avenue, and Florence Road. The Southdown group was largely dormant but has been recently re-activated. The Florence Road group has now more of a social than crime prevention function but interested residents are welcome to contact Suzanne Perfrement. We recommend that people in Southdown North join the existing group by contacting Debbie Trinnaman and remaining residents form a new scheme.

Hopefully more members will come forward at the AGM but the agenda is very crowded so there will be no time for a general discussion of NW. There will be time at the end of the meeting for a brief chat and to collect any new contact details.

We suggest that those interested in forming a group arrange a meeting at a later date to discuss setting it up. John Wright, Chair of The Sussex NW Federation has offered to attend to give his advice and support and our local PCSOs will be at the AGM. The Sussex Federation is affiliated to the Our Watch organisation, which has a very useful site with many resources to assist in forming and running a scheme.

Looking forward to seeing you at the AGM.
